RYAN PENNER
COACH
Ryan Penner is a product of the Yorktown lacrosse program, where he was a two-year starter in goal, managing a .663 save percentage, and also helped lead the Huskers to back-to-back Section Championships and the 2003 State Championship. Despite only starting for two years, Ryan was named All-Section twice and still ranks #7 in saves in Yorktown history with 437 total saves.
Ryan then accepted a scholarship to play college lacrosse at Marist University where he was a mainstay in goal for the Red Foxes. He was a four-year starter and a three-year captain while at Marist and ranked in the top 10 in the country in save percentage during his senior year.
As a coach, Ryan has been actively involved with numerous programs at the youth and HS levels, including coaching for the Yorktown Bombers and Greeley, Rye, Bronxville, and Larchmont Youth Lacrosse programs. Ryan also served as an assistant coach at Sacred Heart Greenwich for 3 years, where they went 46-11 overall, were ranked in the Top 40 teams in the country, and he ultimately helped to develop athletes playing at Boston College, Penn, Cornell, Navy, Duke, UNC, and Villanova. Ryan has been able to bring a different perspective to the girls’ game, which at the collegiate level is beginning to look a lot like boys’ lacrosse. His big push is to develop lacrosse IQ and create a team concept on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, to compete with some of the best teams in the country.
Ryan currently serves as the Co-Director of the Predators Girls’ program and Head Coach for the 2026 Preds team.
